CNI Scheduling Policy Update

Expanded Long-Range Access to CNI Scanner

We have increased the number of days for which users can book the CNI scanner out 16 week. This was done in response to user requests and in consultation with our Advisory Board. As shown in Figure 1, we have added Wednesday, so now users can book out to 16 weeks on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The existing project and PI quotas on number of hours that can be booked remain unchanged.

Please remember that you should have a planned subject for every slot you book on the CNI scanner. The total number of hours that are cancelled for a project in any month should be on the order or less than 20% of the total number of hours scanned in the corresponding month for that project. That is, it’s against our policy to book a large number of slots only to cancel many of them, even if they are not late cancellations.
